The Municipality of East Ferris Fire Department currently consists of, on average, twenty seven volunteer members with a full time Fire Chief. It services the hamlets of Astorville, Corbeil and Derland including the surrounding rural areas. The primary Emergency Services include:
- Fire Education, Prevention, Enforcement and Suppression
- First Response Medical Calls
- Motor Vehicle Incidents
There are two Fire Stations in Corbeil and Astorville. This allows the majority of the municipality to be within eight kilometers of a fire hall. The stations are located at 390 Highway 94 in Corbeil and 1229 Village Road in Astorville. The Fire Chief’s office is in the Municipal Office at 390 Highway 94, Corbeil.
The Municipality is committed to protecting its residents and properties. However, the East Ferris Fire Department's services may be limited as a result of extenuating circumstances, including but not limited to:
1. Various environmental factors; or
2. Seasonal factors and obstruction to access which may occur from time to time.
The variation of services may extend to all properties within the Municipality of East Ferris including properties located on private roadways, laneways and driveways and, water access properties (By-law 2010-38).
