|The Community of East Ferris|
The Township of East Ferris consists of the communities of Corbeil (situated along Hwy. 17 East) and Astorville (on the south-western tip of Lake Nosbonsing).
East Ferris is located next to the city of North Bay and boasts a population of over 4100 residents of which approximately 33% are French.
East Ferris has had a population growth of 24.5% between 1981 and 1996 due to its affordable residential living conditions and the easy commuting distance to North Bay. East Ferris economic growth is closely linked with that of North Bay because of the large quantity of residents who are employed in North Bay.
East Ferris consists of a large senior citizen population (over 21% of residents are over the age of 55) and the number of working age residents (20 to 54 years of age) is increasing annually. Development in East Ferris is primarily residential on the shoreline of Lake Nosbonsing.
