The Municipality of East Ferris is hiring for the following positions:
Full-Time Public Works Labourer (2 positions)
- Students will assist with various duties in the Public Works department related to maintenance of roads and equipment, and in the office as required.
- Duties will also include various activities such as flagging to provide traffic control during construction, set-up traffic counter machines following strict safety protocols, inventory data collection and more.
- Preference will be given to students who have construction and/or maintenance experience as well as students with interest towards the Public Works field.
- This position is full-time, for 40 hours per week and based on a 7:00 a.m. start time.
- The successful candidate should expect to work outside, be able to stand for long periods of time, and be alert, reliable and punctual.
- The successful candidate should have good communication skills, strong work ethics, the ability to work independently, and in a team environment.
- Position requires a valid G class driver’s licence with satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Position requires CSA approved safety boots at the employee’s own expense prior to commencement.
Duration: Employment is for an approximate 4-month period beginning late April and ending in the last week of August.
Wage: $18.50/hour
Full-Time Parks & Recreation Labourer (1 position)
- Duties include assisting the Recreation and Parks Department with general facility maintenance and operations, including the East Ferris Community Centre and Arena and our parks and public outdoor spaces.
- This position will require some evening and weekend work depending on scheduling.
- This position is full-time, for up to 40 hours per week.
- The successful candidate should have good communication skills, strong work ethics, the ability to work independently, and in a team environment.
- Position requires CSA approved safety boots at the employee’s own expense prior to commencement.
Duration: Employment is for an approximate 4-month period beginning late April and ending in the last week of August.
Wage: $18.50/hour
