Public Works & Engineering Services
The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of much of the day-to-day infrastructure used by residents including roads, bridges, culverts, streetlights, and public parking lots, and for the delivery of services including curbside recycling and garbage collection, and landfill site operations. The department maintains a municipal road network of over 200 lane kilometres which excludes Highways 17 & 94.
The Director of Public Works/Municipal Engineer oversees all activities of the Public Works Department and also provides engineering services to several neighbouring municipalities. The Director reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.
